Reimbursement for Secretin went up in 2016!
The added value of sMRCP (which is not achieved by a standard MRCP) provides qualitative data on the function of the pancreas. The cost of secretin when purchased direct from ChiRhoClin is $ 465.00 per vial. A specific J code has been established for the infusion of secretin, J-2850, as well as JW-2850 if there was any wasted or unused drug.
Effective January 2016 the reimbursement for secretin was adjusted to $ 34.78 per mcg. A single secretin 16 mcg vial reimbursement through Medicare is now $ 556.48.
